Days 300-304

October 27-31, 2010

Day 304
Happy Halloween

Day 303
Luca and I went to one of our favourite restaurants. We had to wait a few minutes for our table so we went down to the cellar to choose our wine. This book made me think of my project and what I should do with the photos once it's finished

Day 302
Made a healthy meal. Something I should do more often

Day 301
These colourful birds sit on a low wall at the entrance of the school where I work. They must have been made by the kids at some point in the past. I like to think of them as representing the diversity of the children

Day 300
Hey you!

Days 274-280

October 1-7, 2010

Day 280
My pretty sunglasses

Day 279
The workers made a hole in the wall and they found this weird guy inside.

October 1-7, 2010

Day 278
A bucket of beer to cheer up the day.

Day 277
When kids start preschool here in Italy, they're supposed to bring specific checkered bags with their names on. When my friend told me that she was going to use a felt tip pen I begged her to let me embroider it.

Day 276
Got some yummy homemade jams from Nonna Ines today.

Day 275
This tube is very important to me. It means that I'll be able to put the washing machine exactly where I wanted. The plumber wasn't sure about the draining at first.

Day 274
One good thing about the changing seasons is lighting candles and cozy up at home with a good book and a glass of wine.

Day 237

August 25, 2010

I made a discovery today.
There was a bowl full of yummy olives.
Luca was not on the premises so I felt confident to leave the room for 5 minutes.
It was a mistake.
The bowl was empty when I came back (I was too sad to take a photo).
Luca's father WAS on the premises.
Lesson learned.
Now I now where Luca gets his speed of light olive eating skills.

Day 210

July 29, 2010

Went to the big supermarket today. I prefer my little market across the street. I get lost in the big one, an hour flies by, and then I end up paying a fortune at the register. I fall for all the 'great' offers.

Day 180

June 29, 2010

I had a very nice sushi lunch with the girls today and then chatted the afternoon away. I heart my friends so much.

Made a summer dinner for Luca. Cold pasta salad and bruschetta. It was Luca's idea to shoot the bruschetta on the balcony!

Day 145

May 25, 2010

I had an awesome afternoon all by myself. The opera program for next season came out today and I picked it up right away. We're gonna have to move fast if we wanna get season tickets.
The weather was great and I just love to sit in the sun on a little italian piazza with a book and a glass of cold white wine.

Day 128

May 8, 2010

I'm back home now. I took some photos every day in Iceland so now I have to go through them and hope there is at least one decent photo for every day.

In Italy you get great food everywhere but it's ALL Italian. I miss a few international treats. Like the lovely brunch I got at Heathrow airport. Strawberry and banana pancakes, yumm.

Day 113

April 23, 2010

'The last olive'

Luca and I have a very similar taste in food, which can be a very good thing when we have to choose a restaurant f.ex.
We both love olives, especially the big green ones. So it becomes a problem when we're sitting in a restaurant and there is only a tiny bowl with 7 olives in it!

Unfortunately that last olive mysteriously disappeared when Luca had to stand up from the table, oops!

Day 105

April 15, 2010

I've never been much of a salad person but Luca gets cranky if he doesn't get his vegs for a few days. I must admit though that I feel really good after after eating a dinner of (almost) only vegetables and fruit, especially after a few days of lots of heavy food.
It's obvious that I prepared this bowl because I've added so many things to hide the actual salad.

Day 42

Little signs of carnival are popping up all over town. A traditional dessert or sweet for this period are the Bugie, my favorite is the one filled with the chocolate, yum yum.

Day 5

As I wasn´t very happy with any of the photos today, I decided to play a little with photoshop. I have hardly ever used photoshop before but I really want to learn more about it. I guess the best way is just to play around a little.
So today´s photo is this red little fella from the market. Fiffed around a little bit to make the background whiter and the colors stronger.

I really must stop being so picky about the photos though, I´m not getting anything else done.

Just another cloudy day

The weather continues to be cloudy and gray and there is very little that sparks my interest to shoot outdoors.
I wanted some fresh vegetables so early this afternoon I grabbed the camera and headed for the outside market 10 minutes from my house, hoping to catch some nice colorful shots of the fruit and vegetables. I wasn´t very happy with the result but I´ll throw up a couple for my own educational purpose.

The following photos aren´t part of the 365project either but only to document how dull the city looks in January.

Day 2

After many days of eating ehhh ...not so healthy, I decided to make a light dinner tonight. This vegetable quiche is so easy to make, you can just use any vegetables you've got in the fridge. I served it with fresh salad and water was the only drink option. Ahhh my stomach feels so much better.

This isn't the best photo ever but I got some practice playing with manual and auto focus.
